I have had several inquiries regarding discounts if a business or individual can guarantee a certain number if shears to be sharpened. If a salon can guarantee a minimum of 8 shears the cost per shear will be $20 per pair of shears and $10 for texturizing/thinning shears. For any individual with 4 or more pairs the same discount will apply. Also as always loyalty pays off with the 5th pair sharpened for free. I see it time and time again, scissors and shears that have been improperly sharpened by someone who does not know what they are doing. These photos are from a shop that unfortunately suffered from a grossly incompetent “shear sharpener”. Not only did that person grind down and ruin multiple pairs of shears, they put bevels onto convex edge blades. If this wasn’t bad enough the angles at which the blades were ground were off by 15 to 25 degrees on most of the blades. I can’t stress enough for everyone to question their shear sharpeners and even ask for references if need be. Three of the photos are shots of just a few of the many pairs of shears that were destroyed. The last photo is an example of how a properly sharpened shear should appear.

I have a few shears for sale. All are in perfect condition with little or no use, mostly demos. All have been sharpened, balanced, and tested. See photos for details, all are right handed.
It’s a little tough to see in these pictures, but please take a look. These are a set of shears I received from a new client today that complained they were just recently sharpened but now bending the hair. They were improperly sharpened! If you’re going to invest in quality shears, especially convex edge shears do yourself a favor and invest in quality sharpening. Please question your sharpener about how they are sharpening your expensive tools, make sure that they know what they are doing. I see far too many cosmetologist with convex edge shears that have been improperly sharpened. Not only will this shorten the lifespan of the shear, it also causes the shear to cut poorly. The following photos show the before and after pictures correcting the edge on the shears. Two photos show a distinct bevel and two photos show the corrected edge after being re-convex’d.
