A Little History of the Beauty Salon...Scissors Salon was originally started in Sharptown, MD in 1986 then moved to Galestown, MD in 1990, and returned to Sharptown in 1995.
The Salon is in the front of a historic 1900’s home that use to be Nuttall’s local grocery store in the 1930’s and Smith’s Cloverland store in the 1950’s, closing in 1963. From then, Linda purchased and began restoration in 1994.
Directions
Experience: Linda Webb Murphy graduated from Mardela High School majoring in cosmetology at Wicomico Vocational Center. She received licenses in the states of Maryland and Delaware. She had previously employed with June Marie’s in Seaford, DE, Shampoo II in Salisbury, MD, and Hair Mates in Salisbury, MD. After getting her manager’s license, she opened her own business. Linda has had advanced training with Paul Mitchell, Martin Parsons, and attends Redken seminars yearly.
Scissors Salon is located right in the heart of Sharptown. Diagonally across the street from the Asbury United Methodist Church.
